Privacy & your data.

Skadi Events exists to run archery events — nothing more. We collect only what's needed to do that, and we treat it with care.

✕

No advertising

We do not use your data for advertising, marketing profiles, or tracking of any kind.

✕

No selling

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

✓

Purpose-limited

Data you share is used solely to operate the site — registrations, scoring, results, and account management.

What we collect

We store the minimum needed to run events you take part in or host:

  • Profile — your display name, avatar, and archery preferences, plus a date of birth, used to determine your eligible age categories and whether privacy is locked on for your account (see below).
  • Event data — your registrations, scores, and results for events you enter.
  • Organizer data — if you host events, the events, schedules, and participant lists you create.

How it's used

Your information is used exclusively to provide the features of Skadi Events: signing you in, registering you for events, recording and displaying scores and results, and letting organizers run their events. We never repurpose it for advertising or sell it onward.

Your athlete number

Every archer is given a permanent six-digit athlete number when their account is created. When a name is withheld from public results, that number appears in its place — Athlete 482913 — and it is the same number at every event that archer ever shoots.

It is deliberately not a shortened version of your name, and not your Archery Canada or provincial member number. Those identify you, which is the opposite of the point. It is randomly assigned rather than derived from anything else in your account, so on its own it reveals nothing about you.

Because it stays the same from event to event, a private archer still has a full competitive record — a score, a ranking, a placing, and results that can be followed across a season. Privacy costs you the name and nothing else.

Who can see your name

Every account has a privacy setting that decides whether your real name or your athlete number appears in public results.

  • Under 18 — privacy is on and locked. It cannot be switched off by you, by someone who manages your account, or by us, until you turn 18. An account with no date of birth on file is treated the same way until one is added.
  • 18 and over — privacy is off by default, and you can turn it on at any time from your account settings.

A separate, reversible choice releases your real name into public results while the rest of your profile stays private — you still won't be findable by a name search. For an account under 18 only a full account manager can make that choice; a minor can never release their own name.

A withheld name is substituted on our servers, as the results are assembled — not hidden by the page that displays them. It is never sent to the browser in the first place, so there is nothing in a public page for anyone to dig back out.

Results visibility is otherwise set by each event's organizer. Organizers can see the real names of archers registered in their own events, and platform administrators can see the full record.

Your control

You can view and update your profile at any time from your account settings. If you'd like your account and associated data removed, contact us and we'll take care of it.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of trusted services to operate — authentication, payment processing, and transactional email. They process data only as needed to deliver those functions on our behalf, and never for their own advertising.
